The Leitrim Association of People with Disabilities (LAPWD) is a community-based organisation supporting people with physical and sensory disabilities across County Leitrim and West Cavan. Driven by the philosophy of Independent Living and the social model of disability, LAPWD aims to empower and enable individuals to take control of their own lives. The organisation provides essential, high-quality services including Personal Assistant matching, Private Home Care Packages, accessible transport services, and varied training and social groups. Operating from the Action Ability Centre in Mohill, LAPWD actively advocates for accessibility and inclusion, ensuring that disabled citizens remain connected, supported, and actively involved in their local communities.
